Letter of Support Procedures

The Office of Innovation and Development (OID) invites community members, organizations, corporations and any outside party to partner with us in the education of the children of Saint Paul. As one of the promoters and guardians of their interests, it is the duty of Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) to ensure that all partnerships are beneficial to Saint Paul students. We will engage in partnerships that respect the development of individual potential while meeting the needs of both the district and our partners who commit their time, resources and expertise to our venture.

A letter of support from SPPS or from the partner may be the first step in an active and engaged partnership. When you ask for a letter of support on your projects, it demonstrates a commitment from you, the partner, and from SPPS in the following areas:

  • The district's overall strategic framework for the advancement of education shall be made clear prior to the engaging of any partnership or project. The proposed project will, in turn, clearly state how it advances the strategic framework toward an achievable end.
  • Communication shall be made by leaders in all the organizations in a regular, timely and efficient manner with all key staff involved from the partner organization. All reports will be completed in a timely, efficient manner as prescribed by the contract.
  • Our partners agree that the interests of SPPS and its students are to be protected in all situations. The partner understands that coordination of services will happen within the district to ensure the safety, security and confidentiality of our students.
  • The district will serve as a committed partner to the partner in all situations. The district will have active leadership and connection in all proposals.
